Containers are delivered on a tilt bed truck or flatbed truck. On tilt bed trucks the driver tilts the bed up, and the container touches the ground. The driver then drives out from under the container. The delivery site needs to allow for 14’ of overhead clearance to accommodate the container on top of the tilt bed trailer. To get out from under the container the driver needs at least the length of the container and the tilt bed truck, in a straight line. This can be up to 100 feet with a 40’ container. The loaded tilt bed truck requires 12-foot wide clearance. 20 ft containers can be delivered on a smaller truck when necessary. Please request a smaller delivery truck when space or turning radius is tight.

In most cases, it will take 30 minutes or less to deliver your container once on-site. Drivers often deliver multiple containers in a day. If the delivery time exceeds one hour, then other deliveries have to be delayed or rescheduled.

If the delivery or pickup exceeds one hour on-site, Cherokee West Enterprises assesses a time charge of $95/hour for each additional hour on-site which is to be paid direct to driver. To ensure that the delivery goes smoothly, someone needs to be at the site at the agreed time when the unit is placed. If you have concerns about access to your delivery site, please discuss them with us prior to delivery. If needed, please send photos and we can discuss what preparations need to be made prior to delivery.

With proper preparation, we can avoid costly delays for all of us!!!

If a container is not level, the doors will be difficult to operate. Containers are fine to be placed on the ground but please ensure proper drainage and leveling.

Yes, as long as the unit is empty and accessable by truck we should be able to get a driver in and move it. Call us for a quote!

The more time given, the better! But typically we can load you same day or next business day in most cases. When the depot gets congested, it could take a few days. We will always let you know when you make your order.

We do ask for an insurance certificate. But can waive the property insurance requirement for a monthly fee. Just let us know which you prefer!

Each city or county have their own regulations! We recommend that you contact your local municipal authority to confirm. Most cities and counties do not require a permit. But it is your responsibility to investigate and arrange for any required permits or fees associated with the placement of the container.

Meets all standards for cargo containers according to the Institute of International Container Lessors (IICL).

These containers are working containers that were recently in service with shipping companies. They have been loaded and unloaded with cargo multiple times.

IICL-5 containers may have a small degree of surface rust, dents, dings, and floor damage. These containers are good for a customer that needs a newer container but can’t afford the cost of a one-trip container.

Cargo Worthy containers are in better condition than WWT containers and are recommended for customers concerned with appearance.

These containers are good for both ground storage and export.

For an additional fee, we can arrange for a marine surveyor to certify these containers for exporting cargo from the U.S.

Cargo worthy containers may have varying degrees of surface rust, dents, dings, or floor damage.

Wind and water tight containers will have some degree of surface rust, dents, dings, or floor damage. Containers are guaranteed to be wind and water tight. They are good ground storage and should not be used for transport without proper certification.

Container has minor damage and should be inspected prior to acceptance. We will NOT sell AS-IS units unless specifically requested by customer.
